Planning tips

At Serendipity Sound, we know that happy accidents take a lot of planning.  Below are a some tips learned over the years that we'd like to pass on to you.

  1. Consider where you place everyone when you set up your seating chart (i.e. your grandparents may not want to sit right next to the speakers).

  2. Are there any "Must Play" or "Do Not Play" songs? Make a list.

  3. Consider how long each function might take when planning your day (receiving line, pictures, travel time between the ceremony site and the Reception site).

  4. Plan music needs for each room your guests will be in (i.e. a separate cocktail room).

  5. Let your DJ know if any of your wedding party need '5 minute' reminders before special activities.

  6. Let your DJ know of any special circumstances (particularly family situations or occasions) you would like us to be aware of.

  7. Plan for poor weather contingencies if you have an outside event.

  8. Plan enough time for speeches and blessings so that dinner can be served promptly when ready.

  9. Consider the size of your venue - larger halls or outside events in large areas may need additional speakers for good coverage.

  10. Consider providing activities for children where a significant number of children will be in attendance.
